Chandrayaan 3 successfully completes its ultimate deboosting phase; the focus now turns to the highly anticipated landing scheduled for August 23rd

Today witnessed a significant advancement in India's lunar aspirations, as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) accomplished a flawless and decisive second de-boosting operation for the upcoming Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission.

This operation has successfully positioned the lander, named Vikram, into a meticulously calculated lunar orbit.

Vikram's proximity to the Moon will vary between 25 km at its nearest point and 134 km at its farthest point.

This pivotal accomplishment sets the stage for the highly anticipated soft landing endeavor in the unexplored southern polar region of the Moon, scheduled to take place on August 23, 2023.

ISRO expressed its confidence, stating, "The module will undergo internal assessments and await the break of dawn at the designated landing location.

The powered descent is set to commence around 1745 Hrs. IST on August 23, 2023.

Comprising the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover, the Lander module has effectively completed both required deboosting maneuvers.

Launched on July 14 this year, Chandrayaan-3 aims to spotlight the technological prowess of ISRO.
